Balls Away- Honesdale High School Interact! Will your ball hit the target? You could win as much as $500 in Honesdale High School Interact Club’s annual “Balls Away” fundraiser on May 29th from 5:30pm to 6:00pm. Drum roll! One-thousand numbered rubber balls will be released over the high school parking lot-- Each ball is being sold for $5.00 and the owner of the first ball to reach the finish line will win $500.00. 2nd place will win $200.00, and 3rd place $100.00.
Proceeds will provide support for it’s International program to send technology and educational scholarships to West Africa.
“We’ve been raising funds that will provide students in West Africa scholarships to attend higher education,” said interact member Danielle Eifert, “Helping students abroad inspires me, and these scholarships will help students, both male and female with opportunities that they wouldn’t normally have.”
When asked “How can you help?” Rotarian Brian Fulp said, “Buy balls!” They can be purchased from Karen Houshultz at Apple Day Spa, Brian Fulp at the Himalayan Institute at 570-309-7860, or any of the Interact Students. Additional prizes will be added, which means more winners!
